It's not easy to find non-Halal American pizza places in Singapore, so I was pleased to have another place to try. This chain hails from the Philippines, but they were colonised by the US for half a century so I suppose that gives them some points for lineage. We tried New York's Finest and Four Seasons. New York's Finest was topped with pepperoni, beef salami, ground beef, italian sausage, ham and vegetables. While the toppings were pretty good in both quality and quantity, the crust was disappointing - it was an Asian style crust (like that in a Singaporean Chinese pizza): bready and with no bite. Four Seasons (Pepperoni/Four Cheese/Anchovy/Garlic and Shrimp) had a better crust, which had more bite and was more crisp (though it still wasn't excellent). The toppings were also pleasing - in particular the pepperoni pizza had a generous amount of cheese, which went well with the meaty pepperoni. Pizza in Singapore is quite expensive so it was nice eating here, where both 10" pizzas we had were $16 each (and that's a nett price at a place with table service, mind you). However 10" is the smallest size available, so if you're a small eater you're sure to have some left for tea (or supper). The pizza variety is also interesting, with a of stalwarts like pepperoni and more innovative combinations like smoked bacon and red apple.

Stopped in this brand new (only open one month) first store in Singapore of the franchise by chance while backpacking Southeast Asia from the United States. I have only had three American meals since being here and I'm happy fate brought me to Yellow Cab! (Pizza is Italian...I know...but this was "New York style" pizza) The family owned branch is clean, cozy and has a great outdoor patio inside the Raffles Links (CityLink) Mall. Tiara, the young lady who is running the place for the family is very sweet, curious to my palette as an American pizza lover and accommodating for any questions I had regarding the menu and the city in general! And her Aunt, who I call Auntie, helps with the business side and is extremely friendly. I enjoyed it so much on the first stopping by that I came back for a beer and potato skins (called twice baked potatoes here, though that's something different for me in the states) the next day! I would have had a beer the first day but I was incredibly hungover so Tiara and Auntie helped me there too by suggesting the New York's Finest pizza (lots of meat, cheese and some veggies), orange juice, a double espresso and glass after glass of water as well as offered me some headache medicine! The pizza was similar to a California style pizza rather than a New York style, but as I said to them, no one else in the states can make a damn NYC pizza besides NYC anyways! Point being, the pizza was good and satisfying. I only got a 10" and still had two slices left actually (though I did have 5+ glasses of water). The only downside here is the wait staff is very young and clearly a little inexperienced, though not to the point of bad service, just...new to it. That will get better with time. My suggestion is less talking to each other and more attention to the guests as a few times i saw tables looking for or attempting to get the attention of their server. Only a few minutes would go by but that can make a huge impact on a busy night. Again, teenagers and a new store so that'll happen and will get better. All in all, very happy with everything and the management is heading in the right direction to make a franchise in 3-5 years in Singapore, I'd imagine! Can't wait to stop by again and see the progress next time I'm out here!
